The Port of Salvador has two channels of access: the channel from inside, next to the city, with a depth of 8m and the second, the side of the island of Itaparica, with depth ranging between 13 and 55 m. Its area of influence covers the entire state of Bahia, the southwest and south of the states of Sergipe and Pernambuco.

The Centro Náutico da Bahia meets all framework for the development of the boating industry in the state of Bahia. Located near the pier of Porto, in the Bay of All Saints, Centro Náutico da Bahia offers:
- 42 vacancies for boats up to 80 feet;
- Supply of drinking water and electricity in 110 and 220 V;

Terminal Turístico de São Joaquim
Maritime terminal that offers services to vessels that connect the city of Salvador to the island of Itaparica, cutting access to 100km in the southern cities of the state. The catamarans, modern and well equipped boats have air-conditioning, seats and board of commissioners. The Ferry-boat system has two vessels with capacity to carry 90 vehicles, six other conventional vessels with capacity for 60 vehicles, and an advanced model with capacity for 170 small cars and all comfort and safety of a catamaran. Besides the vehicles, the boats can carry from 140 to 1,000 passengers per trip.
