The state of Bahia offers some golf course options of international standards and excellent infrastructure for the sport. Some of them are located in the neighborhoods of Itapuã and the North Coast, in Costa do Sauipe and Praia do Forte. Due to the infrastructure and quality offered in these venues Costa do Sauipe hosted the 30th edition of the South American Golf Senior Amateur in 2008.
