Dear Partners,
Salvador, a city of congresses and events
The Salvador and the North Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau, with 15 years of experience in the market, has established itself as one of the most important and active tourism entities in the country. Despite its acknowledged role in the economy of Bahia, the Salvador Convention has great challenges ahead. We are about to host the World Cup, we aim at intensifying actions in order to prepare our destination for the most important sporting event on the planet. After all, the world‘s eyes are turned to us with the 2014 World Cup.
Achieving this recognition was not something easy to do. It required much effort and dedication of our employees, and maintaining members and the constant support of municipal and state governments. The work was hard, but worth it. Today, the capital of Bahia and the North Coast are consolidated as the most desirable destinations in Brazil both for leisure tourism as an event venue. So much so, that Salvador is considered by ICCA - International Congress and Convention, as the third city to host more international events in the country and was also recognized in 2011 as a World City of Festivals and Events in Latin America according to the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA). Indicators that qualify and supports our image in the international market.
However, it is clear that other destinations in the country are also becoming ever better, which requires us to develop new operating strategies. The participation of sponsors, supporters, founders and government entities is even more necessary. We have much work ahead, but we will confirm, once again, our call as a city of events and conferences, the capital of mysteries, culture and the eternal smile.
