The beaches are beautiful, but the main attraction of the village is the Arembepe Hippie Village situated close to centrinho welcoming the "peace and love" generation who still sells handicrafts and cassava to survive, preserving the vegetation and living in mud and straw huts without electricity. The intact scenario of the community is the same that enchanted and received Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in 1968, and rock star Janis Joplin in 1970.
A station of the Tamar Project is located on the beach, which gives the name to the village, where tanks and enclosures were built to protect the eggs of sea turtles that are released into the sea from December to February.
